Meet The Coaches

Courtney Gidge has been involved in gymnastics since she was 8 years old. Starting in a recreational class soon after to find herself in a competitive tryout. Competing was one of her most treasured times, her favourite events are floor and vault. At 11 years old she started assisting coaches with gymnastics classes and is currently still involved with gymnastics.

Courtney attended elementary school in Listowel, then went to Elmira for high school. She recently graduated from Conestoga College with distinction in Electrical Engineering Technology and secured full time employment as a distribution design engineer. Interacting with kids, practicing gymnastics, and having fun are all things that she enjoys!

Mack Simpson has been involved in gymnastics since the age of 3. Since then she trained as a competitive gymnast for 7 years with the Woolwich Gymnastics Club where she has also been coaching for another 7 years! Currently Mack is in her fourth year of studying Geography and Environmental Biology at Wilfrid Laurier University and is also teaching at the Owl’s Nest Holistic Alternative School in Harriston.

Emaleigh Bender has been involved in gymnastics since she was 3 years old, starting in Palmerston, but early on it was apparent gymnastics was her thing! She moved on the the Elmira Woolwich gymnastics club and joined the competitive team when she was 8, where she still trains and competes.

She is going into high school this fall at LDSS, and is looking forward to helping at LGC.

Hello, my name is Abbi. I am 15 years old and in grade 10. I attend School at LDSS. I have experience with gymnastics along with cheerleading. I did gymnastics for about 3 years, later leading me to competitive cheerleading for 2 years. I trained at the Hanover Aerials gymnastics club. Due to Covid and moving to Listowel from Durham, I no longer practice gymnastics, however this upcoming May I hope to be training with the Cheer Sport Sharks cheer squad in Kitchener! I can't wait to Coach this session! I am very excited to teach the younger generation the sport that I loved doing in hopes that one day they will feel the same!

Meet The Coaches In Training

Jocelyn Davidson has been involved in gymnastics since the age of 3. She quickly knew that this was her passion. She trained in Palmerston with the Norwell Cobras Gymnastics Club, where she excelled in floor & beam. Jocelyn is currently in grade 8 at North Perth Westfield Elementary School, and will be gearing up for LDSS in the fall. Joc loves to be in the gym and help teach the younger generation the sport she loves in hopes that they’ll fall in love with it too!

My name is Rylie Williams. I don’t have much experience with gymnastics, other than a few years with the Woolwich Gymnastics Club. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy it!

I am currently in grade 8 at Westfield Elementary School, and will be attending LDSS in the fall for grade 9.

I love being active as well as being around and helping younger kids, so LGC is the place for me!

Hello my name is Hailey. I’m 13 years old and in grade 8 at Westfield elementary school. I’m a competitive dancer at the Listowel school of dance, and even though I don’t have a lot  experience with gymnastics other than a couple of years at Woolwich Gymnastics Club when I was younger, and recently acro at LSOD, I love being around and teaching

Hello, my name is Riley. I am 13 years old and I am in grade 8 at Elma Township Public School. I have been doing gymnastics since I was 2 years old at the Mitchell Gymnastics Club. Over the years I have tried many different sports but gymnastics is by far my favorite. Prior to COVID I was on the competitive team. This probably is my favorite part of gymnastics. I love doing conditioning and the prep work for competitions. I really hope competitions start again soon! I have been coaching for the past 2 years and I love helping all the little people learn new skills and share their love for the sport with me.

Hi I’m Ashley Huether, I have been involved in dance for 13 years. I have been on the competitive dance team for the last 7 years. I love to work with kids and help them grow and learn while doing what they love.

I am attending my last year of high school and I am looking forward to helping at the LGC.

Hi my name is Kelsey Gowing. I am 12 years old and I am in grade 7 at Westfield Elementary school. I have been involved in gymnastics for 3 years at Mitchell Gymnastics Club, Listowel Gymnastics Club and now currently at Woolwich Gymnastics Club training to get better. It has been on and off because of covid. I am very excited to be a CIT and to have the opportunity to help younger kids find their passion and I hope to one day be a coach!
